Lotus Reiki & Yoga is honoured to host Thai Gong Master & Mindfulness Teacher, Veerayuth Pongsiri (K. Vee) from Chiangmai to present his very first Mindfulness Gong Baths a in Bangkok the weekend of 1st-2nd June 2019. Set in a heritage Old Town studio, Lotus Reiki & Yoga is a relaxing oasis nestled in Bangkok’s historic centre and home to the city’s largest collection of therapeutic Gongs (both Western & Asian). You are invited to relax into mindfulness while rubbing & absorbing the powerful energy radiated by the traditional Thai Temple Gong. Together, we will embark on independent spiritual journeys through the binaural beats of the unique Thai Gong. These beautiful vibrations flow through your body, allowing all of your cells to recalibrate. Enjoy immersing yourself in a state of timeless entrainment. After landing, you will feel grounded, relaxed and peaceful.

Asian people believe that when they use their palms to rub or mallets to strike a Gong evoking loud sounds, this will bring them luck, fame and good health. During a Mindfulness Thai Gong Bath, we apply the practice of Buddhist mindfulness while rubbing the Gong gently with the palms. As a meditational practice, Thai Gong rubbing allows us to stay fully present. As we observe the shifting impermanence of the sacred sounds, we reflect on nature itself and the mind becomes focused and still as a result. This technique of awareness is highly effective in balancing the body, mind and spirit. K. Vee began his project of sharing Mindfulness Gong Baths in September 2017 at Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan, Chiang Mai, Thailand. Since then, he has developed a unique approach through integrating the scientific knowledge of the West with the liberal arts of the East. His dedicated efforts in spreading wellness through Sacred Sound Healing have culminated in the “Mindfulness Thai Gong Bath Courses” which have been propagated in temples, community centers, educational institutions and yoga centers throughout Thailand and around the world.

1. To present a new approach to Mindfulness using Thai Gongs in an interactive, kinesthetic meditation.
2. To bring energy from the Thai Gong sounds to treat those with ‘monkey mind’ syndrome and adjust the body cells to return to their natural balance.

K. Vee’s project has received courteous support from 4 temples in Chiang Mai, which run weekly Mindfulness Gong Bath sessions/trainings including:

Wat Phra Singh:
At the pavilion next to a big Chedi behind the royal temple

Wat Tung Yu:
At Prachao Tunjai Building

Wat Chai Phra Kiat:
Inside the Lanna Scripture Building

Wat Suan Dok:
At Theerasak Phairot Sathaporn Buildings (Monkchat Buildings)
(supported by Mahachulalongkorn University, Chiang Mai Campus)

Mr. Veerayuth Pongsiri (K. Vee) was born in Thailand in 1967 and holds both a Bachelor degree in Survey Engineering as well as a Masters degree in Buddhist studies from MCU Chiang Mai, Thailand. Veerayuth worked as a Survey Engineer in both construction and consultant companies for over 20 years. His combined studies in Engineering and Buddhism have allowed him to blend Western science with Eastern art to develop an enlightening program called “Mindfulness Gong Bath” – a sonic souvenir and travel highlight for many visiting Chiang Mai, Thailand, since September 2017. Currently, it is K. Vee’s mission to share the experience of his “Mindfulness Gong Bath” to a wider audience beyond his hometown. Veerayuth enjoys teaching his Mindfulness Gong techniques by inviting the Gong to sing along to the smooth touch of the fingertips. Attendees learn how to resonate with this powerful, vibrant sound (NATURE). As the human body begins to resonate, our cells recalibrate and return to their natural, healthy state. K. Vee offers regular bi-weekly Mindfulness Gong classes in Chiangmai and enjoys dedicating himself as a Thai Buddhist Volunteer, sharing Thai culture, the teachings of Gautama Buddha, and loving kindness & compassion to the world.
