Balanced Health & Wellness with Ayurveda Yoga_6 Workshops

Are you facing digestive issues such as bloating, gas, constipation, acid reflux, headaches and want to solve it in a holistic way? Then join me to learn about the basics of Ayurveda in 6 workshops of 2 hours each. Explore how to become your own healer, balancing your physical, emotional, mental, spiritual health with knowledge/experience from ancient traditions Yoga and Ayurveda, backed up with a modern touch. So that you can start listening to your body, trust its rhythms and nourish it deeply with Ayurvedic practices, daily routine and lifestyle. Handouts are provided.

Workshop 1 Introduction & Your Constitution_ Saturday 10 October 2020, 10-12am

  • Introduction to Ayurveda as philosophy and science
  • Basic principles: the 5 Elements (Mahabhutas), the 20 Qualities (Gunas), the 3 Doshas or vital energies VATA, PITTA, KAPHA
  • Defining your own constitution: Prakriti and Vikruti

Workshop 2 Ayurvedic Anatomy_ Saturday 17 October 2020, 10-12am

Your body from Ayurvedic perspective:

  • 7 tissues or Dhatus
  • 13 metabolic/digestive fires or Agni for digestion, absorption, assimilation and transformation of food.
  • Toxins or Ama
  • The life force at the base of the immune system, Ojas
  • The vital force or Prana (Qi)
  • The vital force connected to metabolism, Tejas
  • 3 elimination products or Malas
  • 5 body sheaths or Koshas
  • Subtle anatomy: Chakras , Nadis (energy channels), Srotas (inner transport system of the body), Marma points (pressure points)

Workshop 3 Health and Illness_ Saturday 24 October 2020, 10-12am

  • Body conditions: Health and Illness, the origins of dis-ease
  • Detect health problems with physical examination, examination of pulse, tongue, face, nails
  • Balancing Vata, Pitta, Kapha constitutions for body, mind, spirit avoiding illness

  • Food and diet according to Ayurveda, Ahara
  • The 6 tastes/flavors of food, Rasas
  • The qualities of food: Satva, Rajas, Tamas

The facilitator

Krist’l D’haene is a Belgian holistic midwife/doula, craniosacral and massage therapist, yoga and Ayurveda practitioner and educator and mom of a young man born in Bangkok in 2002. Currently based in Bangkok, her passion is supporting women and men with a conscious approach to food, lifestyle, movement and wellbeing.

She lives in SE Asia since 1996 in Laos, Cambodia and Thailand and prior to this, she spent 10 years in various African countries. She resources in nature and loves music, dance and singing. She is polyglot and is at ease in Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish, Portuguese and somehow Thai, Lao and Khmer too. www.kristldhaene.com
